Mears is home to the famous Silver Lake Sand Dunes. This is the only place in the state that you can drive a vehicle on the dunes. Bring your own or rent a dune buggy or jeep. If you prefer to ride Mac Wood’s will take you on the dunes. West Michigan Sand Dragway is located in Mears. Sand drag racing at it’s best, watch racers burn down 100 yards of sand at speeds up to 138 MPH in less than 3 seconds. Enjoy Silver Lake in your own boat or rent a wave runner, kayak, canoe, pontoon boat and more right here. Lake Michigan is just over the dunes and we also are home to the famous Little Point Sable Lighthouse. Enjoy fly-fishing or canoeing down the river, you can do it here.
